The word Ludothek is derived from the Latin word “ludus” and means something like: “play”; “school”; “place of storage” and refers to the institution or place of an organized, usable collection of games.

A Ludothek is a lending library for games and toys. It supports and promotes playing through careful selection. It helps to avoid the accumulation of rarely used toys at home.
Children and adults should have the opportunity to engage with good and high-quality toys.

The Ludothek offers the chance to try out different games without having to buy them.

We offer a wide range of games and toys: children’s games and toys, party games, educational games, games of chance, outdoor games, movement games, wooden toys, electronic toys, and much more.

The Ludothek Dübendorf has existed since April 1986. It is organized as an association. The lending service is run voluntarily and free of charge by staff members.
